Radiant Light Appeal

Radiant Light Appeal 2007

Dear Friends

Please consider making a donation to help the work of Radiant Light.

DONATE NOW (by credit or debit card)

This is our first appeal in a number of years. We are asking for your help – for the support of your prayers, and for your financial support. Radiant Light is a small movement within the Catholic Church which seeks "to encourage people to grow in holiness by believing and living the Catholic faith in its fullness." It focuses on spreading the religious art and writings of Elizabeth Wang, through publishing, the internet, exhibitions, etc. We have recently decided to distribute Elizabeth's writings and religious art free of charge through the internet, so that individuals and groups with limited resources can use them for prayer and catechesis. All these projects cost a great deal to run, and without your help we are not sure how we can keep them going.

Radiant Light is a non-profit-making UK company (a company limited by guarantee and not having a share capital). We raise some income through the sale of books and prayer-cards, but we would be lost without the donations given by benefactors. Your donation, large or small, will make an enormous difference to our work. If you have been helped or touched by the work of Radiant Light, please consider making a donation, so that others too can find encouragement and inspiration through this work.

As well as the on-going costs of publishing, and running the web-site, we have a number of other projects which we would like to start soon. These include:

> Printing new books, written by Elizabeth Wang, for catechesis and devotional reading – these will include new and previously unpublished artwork;

> Adding another 2,000 religious pictures by Elizabeth Wang to the Radiant Light web-site – most of which have never been seen before;

> Improving the quality of the pictures that are already on the web-site, so that they can be downloaded and printed for prayer and catechesis, free of charge;

Your donation will help us to continue the work of Radiant Light, and to develop new projects such as these. We are enormously grateful for your help, and for the support of your prayers. We remember our benefactors each year, and offer Mass for their intentions on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of the Lord (Corpus Christi) each June – which is a day of special importance to Radiant Light because of the centrality of the Eucharist in our work.

We wish you God's blessing in this Easter season.

With gratitude, and prayerful good wishes.

Mary Wang, Chris Wang, Fr Stephen Wang – Radiant Light

Please note: 'Radiant Light' is a non-profit-making UK company (a company limited by guarantee and not having a share capital. Number 3701357). It is not a UK charity, and donations made to Radiant Light are not tax-deductible and cannot be used in Gift Aid schemes. The UK company 'Radiant Light' has wide trading objects together with two specific aims which are: "For the glory of God the Most Holy Trinity, for the honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and out of love for the Catholic Church and loyalty to the Pope and bishops in communion with him: (1) to advance the Roman Catholic religion; (2) to promote the works of Elizabeth Wang".

Comment

"It has often been said that the difficulty modern people have with faith is not so much about the arguments for or against it, but with the difficulty of imagining God's presence in our highly secularised world. The work of Radiant Light is a perfect answer to that problem. Elizabeth Wang's art helps us make "the longest journey", from head to heart, by picturing what this presence might be like in a variety of situations. Radiant Light thus continues the great tradition of the Church from earliest days in using contemporary art to instruct us about God's truth and attract us to his beauty, leading us on to heartfelt adoration and to awareness of his being with us and all people from moment to moment."
