Large-scale prints of these pictures were exhibited in Notre Dame de France, the ‘French Church’, Leicester Square, London, between 1st July – 24th September 2006. To see larger versions of each picture, click on the thumbnail picture within an exhibition.
 | God holds in existence all things, and all people, including those who question His existence. “…for he is the guide even of wisdom and the corrector of the wise. For both we and our words are in his hand, as are all understanding and skill in crafts”
(Wis 7:15-16).WC 3280 |
 | Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Holy One, like us in all things but sin. “And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father’s only son, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).WC 6074B |
 | When Christ died for us, to take away our sins, the angels hid their faces in horror. “For he will be handed over to the Gentiles; and he will be mocked and insulted and spat upon. After they have flogged him, they will kill him, and on the third day he will rise again” (Luke 18:32-33).OIL 1491 |
 | Through faith, baptism, and loving obedience, we share in the life of the Holy Trinity. “You have received a spirit of adoption. When we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’ it is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ—if, in fact, we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him” (Romans 8:15-17).OIL 1794c |
 | Christ gives us peace, joy, and forgiveness in Holy Communion. Our little sins fall away like ashes. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires” (Galatians 5:22-24).OIL 158 |
 | If we surrender to him, the Holy Spirit will fill our souls with light, love, purity, peace, and power. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth”
(Acts 1:8).WC 4499 |
 | Jesus himself speaks to us through the Holy Scriptures, especially when the Gospel is proclaimed at Mass. “Indeed, the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul from spirit, joints from marrow; it is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).WC 5578 |
 | The prayer of the Church, offered through Jesus, and with Mary, is like an umbilical cord that joins us to heaven. “For here we have no lasting city, but we are looking for the city that is to come. Through him, then, let us continually offer a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name” (Heb 13:14-15).OIL 1409b |
 | Through each Bishop who is in communion with the Pope, God the Father sanctifies, teaches and guides us. “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age’” (Matthew 28:18-20).WC 2507 |
 | Through the one Sacrifice of Christ, re-presented at every Mass, we are united with the Heavenly Court and the souls of Purgatory. “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to the assembly* of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel” (Hebrews 12:22-24).WC 6689c |
 | We can only find intimacy with God in prayer, if we approach him through the ‘door’ of humility. “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14).OIL 0122 |
 | Our personal prayers and devotions, such as the Rosary, unite us to Heaven, and delight our Guardian Angel. “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise the words of prophets, but test everything; hold fast to what is good; abstain from every form of evil” (1 Thes 5:16-22).Oil 1524 |
 | If we unite our sufferings with Christ, he supports us and allows us to share in his saving work. “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that is taking place among you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice in so far as you are sharing Christ’s sufferings, so that you may also be glad and shout for joy when his glory is revealed” (1 Peter 4:12-13).OIL 0302 |
 | Jesus’s love is personal, tender, and unchanging; he is present with us always, especially in the Blessed Sacrament. “Who will separate us from the love of Christ?... For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:35-39).WC 6226b |
 | Our intercessions for others, in the name of Jesus, are like a rope that draws them towards heaven. “To this end we always pray for you, asking that our God will make you worthy of his call and will fulfil by his power every good resolve and work of faith, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thes 1:11-12).WC 1923 |
 | If someone, perhaps without realising it, is in moral or spiritual danger, we should warn and help them. “And we urge you, beloved, to admonish the idlers, encourage the faint-hearted, help the weak, be patient with all of them. See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all”
(1 Thes 5:14-15).WC 3125 |
 | The Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother, prays for us continually, and helps those we entrust to her care. “When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing beside her, he said to his mother, ‘Woman, here is your son.’ Then he said to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother.’ And from that hour the disciple took her into his own home” (John 19:26-27).OIL 1513 |
 | In the spiritual life it is hard to keep our balance. Jesus is always ready to help us, whether we are tempted by pride or despair. “Therefore prepare your minds for action; discipline yourselves; set all your hope on the grace that Jesus Christ will bring you when he is revealed. Like obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires that you formerly had in ignorance. Instead, as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct; for it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’” (1 Peter 1:13-16).OIL 0136 |
